Free and Accessible Video Game Music Piano Arrangements.

My name is Darren, and on Youtube, I release piano arrangements of video game music (VGM) tracks, complete with live-recorded piano covers and free sheet music.

My mission has always been to bring free and accessible VGM piano arrangements to as many people as possible, and on this website, you will find my entire collection of sheet music, always free for download at the click of a button.

This is how it all came together.

FREE VGM SHEETS: My Commitment

My VGM piano sheets will always remain free and easy-to-download.

I have never monetized my piano arrangements, and I do not ever intend to do so—be it directly or indirectly. No convoluted website trails, no webforms, no demanding your emails and subscriptions. All of my VGM piano sheets will always be laid bare on this website, readily accessible at the single click of a button.

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with monetizing sheets. But that’s not my mission here.

My heart has always been with the mission and not its rewards. Above all, I am more than content with all the blessings that have come my way since I started the channel four years ago: among other things, I’m immensely grateful for my Youtube subscribers and following, an amazing community on Discord, and even a source of income from my albums.

There are few greater joys in this world than acting on a personal calling, especially when you’ve seen the impact your work has had on others. So the least I can do is to keep my sheets free and easily downloadable.

However, if you still wish to make a monetary contribution to this channel and my mission, your contribution will be pumped into a channel fund that will mainly be used on large-scale Discord community events and gear upgrades. You can contribute to this fund by making a pledge on my Patreon page here.

Finally, if you enjoy the music I make and wish to support me directly, your viewership on digital outlets such as Spotify and Apple Music (and Youtube as well) bring money directly into my pocket, and that would be more than enough for me.

ACCESSIBLE VGM SHEETS: The Story

My VGM piano sheets will always be optimized for playability and accessibility.

I grew up playing the Pokemon games. The tracks didn’t leave much of an impression then, but a few years later, and out of nowhere, I was hit with this fond sense of nostalgia. Among the tracks that suddenly re-appeared in my mind, there was “Verdanturf Town” from the Hoenn games, “Pallet Town” from the Kanto games, and above all others, “Route 216” from the Sinnoh games. I later realised that this experience wans’t unique to me, and that many people get into VGM through a similar process of “re-discovery”.

At the same time, for most of my life, I was trained in classical piano performance, music theory, and musicology. So when my moment of “re-discovery” hit, my natural instincts brought me to find piano arrangements of my favourite VGM tracks online. The problem was, many of the fan-made Pokemon arrangements I found were either downright unplayable or locked behind paywalls.

So I decided to make my own VGM arrangements, finally putting my years of music theory training to some use. About a year in, I decided to shift my focus towards making arrangements that were as easy to play as possible—I started recording all my arrangements as live piano covers. Now, in addition to my live piano cover videos on Youtube, I also release full live piano albums of my piano arrangements on digital stores such as Spotify and Apple Music.

Joining our Music Community!

Before I conclude, I’d just like to invite you to our warm and wholesome Discord community—you can join our server by clicking the link here.

Over on our server, you’ll find lots of VGM-loving musicians and all-around great people, as well as fun server-wide events such as joint compositions and VGM piano compilations! Please feel free to drop me a message to say hi when you do get there.

A music community has never been a part of my mission, but it grew out of the Youtube comments section and has remained incredibly welcoming since its beginnings. It is the single-greatest blessing of my journey as a Youtuber, and we’d love to have you join us to share about your personal music journey and find your audience.

THANK YOu.

If you’ve made it this far, I’m incredibly humbled, and I’d just like to express the most heartfelt gratitude I ever could over a webpage to you.

Looking forward to bringing you more free and accessible VGM piano arrangements; take care of yourself, and hope you have a wonderful day ahead :)

With much cheers,
Darren Ang
